Used Parts Exchange Program

Please note that the Used Parts Exchange Program officially begins on February 1, 2012.

The statistics speak for themselves: the majority of people who recycle their old vehicle will subsequently buy a car 7 years old or more. That's why Recyc-Auto has set up its Used Parts Exchange Program.

Summary of conditions

• Used parts covered include only parts from vehicles aged 7 years or more.
• The engine, transmission, chassis, tires, aluminum wheels (mags) and catalytic converter are not included in the Used Parts Exchange Program.
• Participating recycling partners offer this service on a self-serve basis whereby you must remove yourself the part you want to exchange.
• For customers who are members of the Used Parts Exchange Program, the exchange is FREE.
• For customers who are not members, an exchange of parts costs $15 for each item exchanged.
• To become a member of the Recyc-Auto Used Parts Exchange Program, you must:
• Sell a vehicle to the Recyc-Auto Recycling Program; and
• Possess a valid membership card.

Used Parts Exchange Program Terms of Use

The Recyc-Auto Used Parts Exchange Program is a service offered to all members of the public to enable them to obtain used auto parts for vehicles over 7 years old. This program makes it possible to exchange used auto parts at no cost for members and for $15 each for non-members.

Specifically, the term “Exchange” means that the customer must bring a defective part and in return receive a similar and equivalent part.

Through this new program, Recyc-Auto and its participating partners are committed to increasing the availability of parts for vehicles over 7 years old, based on a self-serve, do-it-yourself concept.

TO BECOME A MEMBER
To become a member, you must sell your car through the Recyc-Auto Recycling Program. When you sell a vehicle to Recyc-Auto or one of its authorized partners through the Recyc-Auto Recycling Program, you will receive a membership card valid for 2 years. This card, which will be issued in the customer’s name, will be given to you by the tow truck operator during the transaction.

Customers who have a right to a free part must present their membership card and proof of ownership (registration certificate) of the vehicle requiring a part. There is no limit to the number of items customers can receive if they swap the corresponding defective parts.

USED PARTS ELIGIBLE
Parts that are eligible and available through this program consist only of removable parts of vehicles listed on the database website www.recyc-auto.com. Note that some parts are not included in the exchange program, namely engine, transmission, chassis, tires, aluminum alloy wheels (mags) and catalytic converter. When a vehicle is removed from the database, parts are no longer available in the Used Parts Exchange Program.

DO-IT-YOURSELF
Customers use this service on a self-serve, do-it-yourself basis. Customers must remove their own parts or use the assistance of a third person accompanying them. Customers requiring the services of a professional employed by the recycling centre will be charged a service fee.

When customers have removed the part(s) they wish to exchange, all other vehicle parts that must be removed and that are no longer useful should be kept inside the vehicle for later sale. This enables future customers to acquire the removed parts that are unused.

PARTICIPATING PARTNERS
This service is offered through the network of partners in the Recyc-Auto Recycling Program. Only those partners wishing to participate in this service comply with these terms. They are listed on the Recyc-Auto website.

Recyc-Auto or any of its participating partners reserve the right at any time to discontinue the service temporarily or permanently at its sole discretion upon 30 days’ notice.
